Riparian Twist

Winding through the flat frozen tundra of central Alaska, rivers often form a series of convoluted loops as the channel meanders from year to year. Beyond the current channel , in the saturated marsh like soils, scars can be seen showing the previous path of the river

This image of a small meandering river in central Alaska was acquired in August of 2000 by the Landsat ETM satellite. The image is located at 63.1 degrees N latitude, -151.0 degrees W longitude.

The print comes mounted on quality stretcher bars using a gallery style wrap (image wraps around the side) so that framing is optional.
