Denali In south central Alaska, north of the Cook Inlet, lies the Alaska Range and the six million acre Denali National Park. Central to the image is the massive feature of Mt. McKinley and the many glaciers that flow off of it. The multicolored flatlands to the north are the result of the spectacular colors of the tundra vegetation in the fall. This image was acquired in August of 2000 by the Landsat ETM satellite. The image is located at 63.1 degrees N latitude, -151.0 degrees W longitude.
