Rainbow Alluvium The Plateau of Iran, in central Iran, is a vast and often rugged desert landscape. This images centers over a jagged rock outcrop that thrusts up to an altitude of 6,000 feet compared to the surrounding flatlands at 2,500 feet. The vibrant colors that pour out of the rocks are alluvial fans of sediment created by the erosion of the soil/rock surface. The colors are a result of difference in soil moisture and structure. This image was acquired by the Landsat ETM satellite in September of 2000, and is centered at 33.22.38 degrees north latitude, 54.33.21 degrees west longitude. The print comes mounted on quality stretcher bars using a gallery style wrap (image wraps around the side) so that framing is optional. 16 x 22 inches = $75.00 24 x 32 inches = $175.00 contact TFI for different print size options and costs Actual print resolution is better than these graphics, see a full resolution sample |
